Where we meet

Most groups meet at the Amersham Community Centre in Chiltern Avenue, either the Barn Halls or Pottery Room, or inside the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre (Drake Hall, Lounge and Committee Room). This is a short walk from Amersham station.

Some groups meet elsewhere in Amersham or, for those that need special facilities such as table tennis, ten-pin bowling, sailing, etc, nearby (e.g. Chesham, Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont, Watford and Rickmansworth). Some groups meet in members' homes.

Be warned that the Community Centre,  Council office and station car parks are patrolled regularly by traffic wardens, who not only check that you are within time (you are allowed up to 10 minutes over the time shown on your ticket), but also that you have parked properly within a marked bay, not with one or more wheels overlapping the white lines.

The historic Barn buildings, including the large and small Barn Halls, and the block containing the Pottery Room have been untouched by the redevelopment of the site for the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre. Click here for a history of the Barn buildings from the Amersham Museum.Access to the large Barn Hall involves steps;  there are toilet facilities only in the Barn Hall and the main community centre building; please ask us about the rooms if you think this may be a challenge.

Some of the buildings we use are old and access to them and to members’ homes may be difficult. We make use of technology where we can help with mobility, hearing and sight issues.  If you have any problems, please let us know and we will make every adjustment within our power to accommodate your needs. Please help us to help you by opening our doors for you.
