'Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words' Robert Frost.
We are a friendly group of amateur poetry lovers who welcome the chance to share our enthusiasm for this unique written form with like-minded colleagues. Themes for our meetings are arrived at by mutual agreement; all participants are encouraged to take a turn in leading our discussions.
Recently we have explored, amongst others, poems of 'Solitude' and 'Harvest' (the latter producing a particularly varied selection of verse) and we have delved into the poetry of Ted Hughes. We shall continue to mix poetical themes with discussions on selected poets and poetical forms.
We meet on the First Wednesday of the month at 10.00 in the Pottery Room, Amersham Community Centre and our next three meeting dates are 5th November, 3rd December and 7th January
The group is currently full but we are running a waiting list: if you feel that this could be for you, please contact either Murray or Linda through the email address above.
