The French Conversation group meets at 14.00 for 2 hours on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at the Amersham Community Centre,. Week 1 meeetings are in the Lounge located in the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre and Week 3 meetings are in the Pottery Room.
The aim of the group is to improve our French through enjoyment of the language and to have fun doing it. We focus on conversation and to encourage that, we usually ask everyone to speak for a few minutes on a given topic although sugestions for alternative meeting formats are always welcome. A little private study is desirable, but is not obligatory.
Recently we have been exploring 'les neuf arts majeurs' with members picking an example of a different genre each meeting but we don't let those choices constrain our subsequent conversation.
We are experimenting with using the 'Fifth Monday' in the month for showing French films in the Pottery Room; members of all Cu3a French groups are welcome.
