| 22- 26 September: |
LIVERPOOL from. £359pp (inc. excursions) |
| Tuesday, 14 October: | ROYAL PAVILION. BRIGHTON.
£18.55pp. Leader: Margaret. Enjoy a guided tour of the most extraordinary palace in Europe. The Royal Pavilion, completed in 1823, has been restored to its full Regency glory with exotic interiors inspired by the orient. This fantasy is a testament to the flamboyant character and sophisticated taste of George IV. Following lunch, time to explore Brighton’s pier, or the interesting back-streets, or remain in the Pavilion to wander in the gardens. |
| Thursday, 13 November: | CHRIST’S HOSPITAL SCHOOL TOUR.
£31.10pp. Leader: Althea. This tour offers you the opportunity to visit one of the last and largest charitable schools in the country, with its magnificent buildings, grounds and museum. If not raining, we watch the school band perform at band parade as the pupils march into the Dining Hall for their lunch. Established in 1552 by King Edward VI to care for poor and homeless children in London, and set nowadays near Horsham, the pupils still wear the antique uniform of blue coats, knee breeches and stockings of the Tudor period. Price includes 3 course lunch with a choice of hot meals, tea/coffee on arrival & before departure, coach & driver’s tip. PLEASE NOTE: The school regrettably has advised that the tour is not recommended for people with walking, hearing or sight problems because a lot of walking is involved, sometimes on uneven ground, with steep steps and narrow staircases in some areas. |
